SPARQLpedia is a public repository of SPARQL queries. Anyone can submit new SPARQL queries. Anyone can search the repository for queries that mention a given namespace, certain resource URIs or have been submitted by certain users. All submitted queries that mention a SPARQL endpoint (FROM clause) can be conveniently executed online with a Run Query button.
What are the benefits of sharing SPARQL queries? Queries often follow re-usable patterns, or in many cases the same query will be executed multiple times to monitor changing data. It is often helpful to store these queries as favorites or templates for future re-use and convenience access. Sharing these queries online will enable your co-workers and others to benefit from your contribution. Many people are not experienced with the SPARQL syntax but will find existing queries related to their area of interest.
SPARQLpedia is contributed to the Semantic Web by TopQuadrant, Inc.. The queries are stored in an RDF repository using the SPIN SPARQL Syntax. Each query gets a unique URI and can be queried using Semantic Web best practices. The web services are implemented using SPARQLMotion scripts on a public TopBraid Live server and can be called using a REST-based protocol. Some end user tools (such as TopBraid Composer 3.0) offer convenient features to naturally submit and search queries as part of the every-day work flow.
